Meghan Markle's rosé finally hit the e-shelves as As Ever's first wine was available to purchase just after 4pm BST this evening but sold out in less than 45 minutes. The rosé, sourced from California's Napa Valley, is a bespoke blend and, according to the brand's description, features "soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality, and a lasting finish".

The Duchess of Sussex's wine came in batches of three, six and twelve, with each bottle costing £22 ($30) and £66 ($90), £116 ($159) and £218 ($300) in total. It was available to purchase only within the US with a £15 ($20) flat-rate shipping, which would have undoubtedly disappointed fans elsewhere in the world. It could also be shipped to Hawaii with additional charges.

In a post on Instagram, her As Ever brand said: "It's here! Raise a glass to the newest addition to the As ever family. Our beautiful Napa Valley rose is now available". A short clip showed the wine being poured into a glass, with accompanying sound.

Meghan's wine has an ABV (alcohol by volume) of 14.5%. According to the Drink Aware charity, most wines have an ABV of around 11-14%.

On the website, As Ever described the new product: "A delicately balanced rosé with soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality, and a lasting finish.

"Reminiscent of the finest Provençal styles, it's crisp, pale in colour, and effortlessly elegant - crafted for slow afternoons and golden-hour gatherings.

"This rosé captures the essence of sun-drenched outdoor moments through its thoughtfully crafted blend."

While those who were able to could purchase the wine straight away, shipping will begin on July 9.

Ahead of its launch today, As Ever noted in a newsletter: "Crisp and beautifully balanced, this rosé is made for summer's best moments - from lunches that turn into dinners and sun-drenched weekends where the only thing that's louder than the music is the laughter."

The launch came amid backlash regarding the brand's stock, after both its collections sold out quickly.

As Ever's first collection launched back in April and sold out within minutes, while the second restocking relaunch, which featured a new apricot spread and a new orange blossom honey, sold out within the first day of going live.

Various commentators have questioned stock numbers and urged the Duchess to be more transparent regarding her product's availability; however, Meghan herself has not commented on any of these claims.

Meghan will have to compete against other celebrities who have ventured into the wine market; however, her wine comes at a higher price point. Kylie Minogue's rosé retails at around £9 per bottle, while Post Malone's Maison No. 9 costs around £20. Brad Pitt's Miraval Rosé also retails at around £20, while Sarah Jessica Parker's Invivo X is priced at around £15.
