The star who gave back-to-back hit films from 1970-73
The Bollywood superstar we are talking about is Rajesh Khanna who started his career in 1966 with Aakhri Khat. But his career peaked between 1970 and 73 when he gave 17 back-to-back hits. He continued to dominate the box office in 1970 and 71 and did films like The Train Sachcha Jhootha Safar Aan Milo Sajna Kati Patang Mehboob Ki Mehndi Anand Andaz Maryada Haathi Mere Saathi Chhoti Bahu and Khamoshi. After this in 1972 10 of his films became hits which included Shehzada Mere Jeevan Saathi Bawarchi Apna Desh Amar Prem Joru Ka Ghulam Bangaru Babu and Anurag. In this way he made a record by giving 17 hit films which has not been broken till date.


When his films flopped he turned to politics
Rajesh Khanna got the status of Bollywoods first superstar after giving 17 consecutive hit films but a time came when his films started to flop. After this he entered politics in 1990 and in 1991 he contested from the Delhi Lok Sabha seat and defeated Shatrughan Sinha. He remained Delhi MP from 1991 to 1996. Although he died on 18 July 2012 even today he is known as Bollywoods first superstar.
