This pass is valid for one year or 200 toll trip from activation, whichever earlier. When the range is completed, the fastag automatically turns into standard payment-discord mode. For point-based toll plaza, each one-way crossing is considered a trip and withdrawal is considered two trip. In closed or ticket systems, the entire journey from entry to exit is considered a trip.

Only non-commercial private vehicles are eligible for this pass and it will only be given to registered cars, jeeps and vans for private use. It is valid on national highways and expressways managed by NHAI and MRTH. The toll plazas of state highways do not come under its purview until they are integrated into the central Fastag system. To buy, the vehicle owners must have an active fastag on the windscreen that is connected to their registration number. They should not be blacklisted by buying a pass. Some fastags, especially for new vehicles, may only be registered with the chassis number of the vehicle. The annual pass on such a fastag cannot be activated and they should be updated to include the entire vehicle registration number.

This pass highway travel is available to purchase through mobile apps, NHAI or MORTH websites, or authorized Fastag issuing portal. Pass (Rs 3,000) can be paid through UPI, Debit or Credit Card, or Net Banking. Fastag wallet balance cannot be used for this. It usually takes two hours to activate it and is confirmed by SMS.

The average toll for a passenger vehicle is around Rs 50. Completing 200 trips in a year without a nearby year will cost around Rs 10,000. With the annual pass, its price has been fixed at Rs 3,000, which often saves about Rs 7,000 to those traveling on the highway.
