ED Action on Anil Ambani: Anil Ambani, brother of the country’s leading industrialist billionaire Mukesh Ambani, shows no signs of abating. While the Enforcement Directorate has issued fresh summons to him in a money laundering case to the bank fraud, Anil Ambani has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court in which he has assured that he will fully cooperate with the ED probe and will not leave the country without permission.


It is to be noted that he is being investigated by the ED in a money laundering case to the Rs 40,000 crore bank fraud committed by companies associated with the Anil Ambani-led Reliance Group. The affidavit has been filed in a public interest litigation in the Supreme Court regarding an inquiry into allegations of banking and corporate fraud.

In an affidavit filed in the Supreme Court, Anil Ambani said his role in the respective companies was only that of a non-executive director and was not involved in their day-to-day management or operational matters. In the affidavit, he further stated that he will not leave the country without prior permission. He has not traveled out of India since the ED investigation into the matter began in July 2025 and has no intention or intention to travel out of India at present. He assured the court that if any foreign travel was necessary, he would take permission of the Supreme Court before such travel.


Anil Ambani assured that he is and will continue to cooperate fully with the investigating agencies in the ongoing investigation. The affidavit said that their stated behavior, commitment and continued cooperation clearly show that there is no risk of fleeing the country and no intention to evade legal process.

Earlier, the ED issued fresh summons to Anil Ambani in the Rs 40,000 crore bank fraud case after he failed to appear before the ED on the scheduled date earlier this week on Wednesday. ED summoned him at its headquarters on February 26. As part of the action so far in the case, the ED has attached assets worth around Rs 12,000 crore belonging to Anil Ambani and group companies.
