A tragic incident occurred in Nihal Vihar, West Delhi, where a bus operated by the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) collided with multiple vehicles, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and leaving another person injured. Following the accident, local residents expressed their anger by staging protests at the scene. During the demonstrations, the crowd vandalized the involved bus and set fire to another DTC bus. Authorities confirmed that the bus driver has been detained for questioning. Reports indicate that the incident was reported around 9:45 AM, with a caller stating that a speeding DTC bus coming from Najafgarh struck several pedestrians on the Najafgarh-Nangloi road.

According to police reports, the bus hit a scooter, a motorcycle, a handcart, and several pedestrians, leading to the fatalities and injuries. Investigations into the incident are ongoing. DTC officials noted that five other buses parked near the protest site also sustained minor damage during the unrest. Law enforcement has assured that the situation is under control, with a significant police presence deployed to maintain order. A widely circulated video on social media captured the burning DTC bus, with bystanders recording the scene while police sirens could be heard in the background. Sources revealed that approximately six passengers were on board the bus but had been instructed to evacuate before the fire broke out.

Footage from the accident site shows extensive damage to the rear of the bus, particularly around the bumper and undercarriage. The bumper appeared broken and dislodged, with plastic debris scattered on the road behind the vehicle. Parts of the front section of the bus were also hanging loose, with cables or wires dangling near the damaged area. Additionally, a nearby scooter was severely damaged, with its front end crushed and the rear-view mirror shattered.

The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) reported receiving alerts about the bus fire around 10 AM.
