The Madison has only just begun streaming on Paramount Plus and Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan's newest series has already got viewers grabbing for the tissues.

The poignant family drama chronicles the Clyburns from New York City, who move to the Madison River valley in Montana after a tragedy that completely upends their world.

Suits star Patrick J Adams portrays Russell McIntosh, the son-in-law of Kurt Russell's Preston Clyburn and Michelle Pfeiffer's Stacy Clyburn, and he discussed exclusively with The Express publisher Reach what it was like collaborating with Hollywood legend Pfeiffer.

Praising his on-screen mother-in-law warmly, he revealed: "She is unbelievable, she is like everything you want in a scene partner."

"Not only is she one of the greatest actors on planet Earth but she is one of the greatest human beings, she is so grounded and so calm and present.

"I get starstruck easily around people, especially people I admire, but she wants none of that.

"She wants to ground you and she wants you to be present and have fun and do back and forth with her, so it was a dream come true."

Elle Chapman, who portrays Russell's wife Paige in the programme, concurred it was a memorable experience having Pfeiffer as her on-screen mum.

She continued: "[It was] surreal. Michelle is a force, she is amazing, every scene you are lucky enough to share with her is just instantly better.

"She just elevates you, all you have to do is just listen to her and you are just... into the scene."

Adams and Chapman share unmistakable on-screen rapport as husband and wife throughout the series, despite navigating a stormy relationship.

Adams revealed that developing their connection was "really easy" because "Elle was wonderful". He added: "I have done this before so I have had some experience and Elle is new to this, this is her first job.

"So she would do a lot of 'How does this work? What are we doing? How should this go?' But then as soon as the cameras roll Paige is in charge and I'm following her around everywhere.

"So it was a fun dynamic to switch back and forth. Elle is just so bubbly and grateful and so excited for the process and so engaged.

"For an old, grumpy cynic like me it's good to have someone around who...she just shows up every day so excited to be there and work and try things and that's where all that energy stems from."
