Varun Dhawan:In the 1990s, there was intense underworld pressure on Bollywood. Many celebrities including Shahrukh Khan, Rakesh Roshan and Karan Johar have revealed about receiving threats from the underworld.

Recently, actor Varun Dhawan revealed that his family also used to receive threatening phone calls, due to which he had to leave his house for a day and shift somewhere else.

Varun’s revelation

Varun told that at that time many big stars were getting such calls. He said-“We were also receiving such calls. They were coming for a long time, but we did not realize it because our staff was arguing with the caller. The staff even told us our full address and the place to meet the person, ‘Come and meet me in that garden; I will reach there before you.”

‘The man came with a gun, I had to leave the house’

He further revealed that when the matter escalated, one of the actors called his father, filmmaker David Dhawan, and warned him. Varun said, “He said things have gotten out of hand and the man is now saying he will bring guns and he knows our address and office hours. When my father asked who said this, he told the name of that staff. So we had to leave our house that day and stay somewhere else. It sounds strange, but it is actually not so strange.”

What is Varun doing on the work front?

Talking about work, Varun Dhawan was recently seen in the film Border 2, in which stars like Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty were also seen with him. This film was successful at the box office.

Now Varun is in discussion about his next film Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur will be seen in the lead roles with him in this romantic comedy. The special thing is that David Dhawan is once again directing this film.
