A beloved Emmerdale star is reportedly set to depart the ITV soap after eight years on screen.

Actress Olivia Bromley is said to be filming her final scenes as Dawn Fletcher later this year.

The character has been at the heart of some of the soap's most dramatic storylines since arriving in the village back in 2018.

Dawn has overcome drug addiction and prostitution, fled a ruthless gang, killed corrupt officer DI Malone (Mark Womack) and embarked on a shocking cover-up alongside vicar step-mother Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton).

She is currently romantically involved with manipulative partner Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), but according to reports, producers have concluded they have exhausted all possibilities with the much-cherished villager.

A source told The Sun: "Olivia is adored by everyone at Emmerdale so the decision to axe her has not gone down well at all.

"She's a popular member of the cast and if they can get rid of Olivia then the feeling is virtually no-one is safe.

"Olivia understood their decision and is preparing to film her exit in the coming months."

ITV declined to comment when approached by Daily Express.

Fans will need to keep watching to discover what turbulence awaits Dawn during her final months in the village.

Last month, mother-of-three Dawn left Joe lost for words after revealing she had no desire to have further children.

The pair began their affair behind Dawn's husband Billy Fletcher's (Jay Kontzle) back shortly following Joe's return to the village in 2024. Following Dawn's baby revelation, viewers began speculating about a potential bombshell twist.

One fan wrote on social media: "I sense a twist coming up for Dawn and Joe. They've been too happy recently," while another remarked: "Hmmm that would be interesting."

A third viewer shared the same view, commenting: "Omg that would be wild. What if it's Billy's and Dawn has been secretly having an affair with him behind Joe's back? Karma."

A sceptical fourth observer added: "I don't know why, but I'm not sure that baby is Joe's"

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 8pm and available to stream from 7am on ITVX
