UPPSC Social Science Result 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has declared the result for the Social Science subject under the Assistant Teacher (Trained Graduate) [TGT] Examination 2025. **Examination Held on January 17**
The preliminary examination for the Social Science subject was conducted on January 17, 2026. This recruitment drive included 561 posts in the male category, 140 posts in the female category, and 2 posts for Special Teachers under the Department for Persons with Disabilities. A total of 209,572 candidates applied for this examination, out of whom 120,302 candidates actually appeared for the test.

Based on the preliminary examination, a total of 9,242 candidates have been declared successful for the main examination. The Commission also noted that, in certain categories, the requisite number of candidates (15 times the number of vacancies) could not be secured due to a shortage of candidates who met the minimum qualifying marks.

**What is the Next Step Regarding the Main Examination?**
Candidates who have qualified in the preliminary examination will be required to apply online for the main examination; the Commission will soon issue a separate notice regarding this process. Information regarding candidates' marks and the cutoff scores will be made available on the website only after the final selection results have been declared. Furthermore, no applications filed under the Right to Information (RTI) Act regarding this matter will be entertained.

The Commission has also clarified that the results of female candidates hailing from outside Uttar Pradesh will be contingent upon the final verdict in a case currently pending before the High Court. This implies that the results for these specific candidates are not yet to be considered fully final, and the definitive status will become clear only after the Court delivers its judgment.
