Hoa Minzy said Toan had mentioned the backpack to her before this year’s Lunar New Year holiday. She decided to surprise him with the design on his birthday, celebrated on Sunday.

The item, a Gucci Natural GG leather-trimmed backpack, features the brand’s signature monogram pattern and a sporty look. An orange strap across the flap adds a bold accent, making the bag stand out.

“Wishing you a speedy recovery from your injury, a quick return to the field,” Hoa Minzy wrote in a message to Toan.

Fans online praised the gift as “cool” and well-suited to the player’s style.

The pair, who have been close friends for years, are known for exchanging high-end gifts. On her birthday last year, Hoa Minzy showed off a Chanel Flap Bag worth about $7,000, which she said was a gift from Toan. She joked that it was his way of “repaying” her for helping him sell his fashion brand’s products via livestream at no charge.

“I earn enough for several bags for each hour of my livestream, but because I value our friendship, I only accepted one,” she said jokingly. “So don’t say I’m taking advantage of Van Toan.”

Toan also supports his close friend professionally, contributing a significant amount to her first concert earlier this year.

The pair have often been the subject of dating rumors, which subsided after Hoa Minzy publicly introduced her boyfriend earlier this year. She said the two men share a friendly and comfortable relationship.

Born Nguyen Thi Hoa, 31-year-old Hoa Minzy rose to fame after winning reality music talent show “Hoc Vien Ngoi Sao” (Star Academy) in 2014 and has since released several hit songs.

Toan was promoted to the first team of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Football Club (HAGL) in 2015. He has since become a regular for Vietnam’s U19, U23, and senior national teams, and was part of the squad that won the 2018 AFF Cup.
