Patna. Preparations are underway for a big initiative regarding transfer of teachers in the higher education sector of Bihar. A new policy for inter-university transfer of teachers from Assistant Professor to Professor level can be implemented soon in 13 universities of the state. The aim of this step is said to be to make the transfer process more transparent and systematic.

Committee formed on the instructions of the Governor

To prepare the draft of this new policy, a four-member committee has been formed on the instructions of Governor and Chancellor Lieutenant General (Retd) Syed Ata Hasnain. This committee will study all the aspects to transfer of teachers and give suggestions.

Suggestions will have to be given within a month

As per the instructions issued by the Governor’s Secretariat, the committee will have to submit its report and recommendations within a month. Based on these suggestions, the final decision will be taken by the Chancellor. After the implementation of the new policy, the process of transfer of teachers between universities will get a clear framework.

Reservation is mandatory

In the new system, it will be ensured that the reservation roster is completely followed in the transfer process. This will maintain transparency and reduce the possibility of any kind of irregularity.

Some universities will remain out

This policy will not be applicable to all universities. Patna University, Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Bihar Animal Sciences University and Bihar Agricultural University have been kept out of this scope. The reason is that these institutions have their own separate acts and administrative structures.
