Lorraine and Loose Women are set to return to ITV in the forthcoming weeks. The broadcaster's established daytime programmes had their annual output reduced to 30 weeks per year following significant cuts that were revealed last year.
Each ITV Daytime programme last appeared in early March and since then, Good Morning Britain, which had previously been extended by 30 minutes after Lorraine's programme was reduced, and This Morning have continued as usual. At 12:30pm, ITV News is broadcast and then game show repeats fill the remainder of the slot typically occupied by Loose Women.
However, it has now been revealed that Loose Women will be the first to return to screens, and will be transmitted once more from Monday, April 27. Christine Lampard will be in her customary position as anchor, while Coleen Nolan, former I'm A Celebrity... star Jane Moore and ex-EastEnders actress Nadia Sawalha will comprise the panel, reports the Mirror.
Regarding Lorraine Kelly's eponymous chat programme, which has been reduced to merely 30 minutes' running time, the daytime veteran will be back a week later on Monday, May 4, according to The Sun.
Daily Express has contacted ITV for comment.
Lorraine previously shared presenting responsibilities on her programme with numerous others, including Loose Women star Christine, as well as Ranvir Singh, who used to assume control on a regular basis.
Other personalities like BBC Breakfast's Louise Minchin and X Factor star Rylan Clark have provided cover but, following the cuts, Lorraine now presents all five programmes.
Towards the end of last year, when questioned about whether the cuts came as a shock, Lorraine told The Mirror: "Not really. I mean, it's kind of indicative of the whole industry, really. I'm just glad that we're still there. We've still managed to save some jobs. A lot of my team are going to This Morning. And so yeah, it's not my decision. It wasn't a decision that I made.
"I just feel lucky to still be doing what I love to do. I mean, what's not to love? There we are this morning. Brian Cox is a massive hero of me. Both Brian Coxes, the actor and the astrophysicist, both of the heroes of mine. You know, getting to talk to people like that is is is a privilege, really.
"You know, getting to watch Jamie Oliver cook something and then eat it is fantastic. And you know, and and you know, next year all my all our regulars will still be there, Dr. Hilary and Doctor Amir and Mark Hayes and Ross King, all the usual people that we've known.
"So I'm just glad that we're still going to be there. It'll be different. But you know what? I've been through many a regime change. So it's just another one. Just another one. It's fine. We'll still be there and it will still be really good fun and I still really, really, really enjoy it. So I feel very lucky."
ITV Media and Entertainment Managing Director Kevin Lygo had previously stated that the purpose of the scheduling adjustments, introduced in January, was to reduce expenditure amid soaring costs while retaining all on-air talent.
He said: "Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust, as well generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres.
"These changes also allow us to consolidate our news operations and expand our national, international and regional news output and to build upon our proud history of trusted journalism at a time when our viewers need accurate, unbiased news coverage more than ever.
"Daytime has been a core element of ITV's schedule for over 40 years and these changes will set ITV up to continue to bring viewers award winning news, views and discussion as we enter our eighth decade."
Lorraine and Loose Women are on ITV1 and ITVX
