Premium bikes have always been in strong demand in India. Although these bikes are expensive in terms of price, many people buy them. One such popular premium bike is the Suzuki Hayabusa.
Suzuki Hayabusa has set a new record in the Indian market in FY 2026. A total of 543 units of the bike were sold during the period, which is about 6% higher than last year’s 511 units. Interestingly, this increase comes despite the increase in taxes on bikes above 350cc capacity due to GST 2.0, which was implemented in September.

This iconic bike from Suzuki has become the best seller in the 1000cc to 1600cc segment. Hayabusa accounts for 49% of total sales in this segment. A total of 1,105 bikes were sold in this segment this year, registering a growth of 22% over the previous year.
In the first half of the financial year (H1), 324 units of Hayabusa were sold. However, in the second half (H2) sales fell by 32% to just 219 units. The main reason for this decrease is the increase in GST rates, which has increased the price of the Hayabusa by around Rs 1.16 lakh. Currently, the ex-showroom price of this bike in capital Delhi is Rs 18.06 lakh.

Suzuki has sold a total of 2,943 units of Hayabusa in India till date. Initially the bike was imported and sold, but later it was manufactured at the company’s Gurugram plant. These figures have been released by SIAM.
Hayabusa remains No. 1 in the segment for the fourth consecutive year with record sales of 543 units. However, its market share has dropped from 57% to 49% due to GST 2.0 price hike.
On the other hand, Kawasaki has overtaken Triumph to take the second position. Kawasaki sold a total of 281 units of its Z1100, Ninja 1100SX and Versys 1100 models, marking a whopping 361% growth compared to last year’s 61 units.
