The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has finally arrested Salim Vastik, the absconding accused in the 31-year-old kidnapping and murder case. The accused was changing his identity for a long time and was presenting himself as a YouTuber.

Dead body recovered from drain

According to the information, in the year 1995, Sandeep Bansal, 13 year old son of a Delhi businessman, was kidnapped. The accused had demanded a ransom of Rs 30,000 in exchange for the safe release of the child. But despite the demand for money, the child was murdered. Later, on the information of Salim, the body was recovered from a drain in Mustafabad.

Salim had absconded after getting bail

In this case, Salim and his partner Anil were arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment in 1997. However, after getting interim bail from the Delhi High Court in the year 2000, Salim absconded and never returned.

was absconding for 26 years

According to the police, to avoid arrest, Salim declared himself dead and changed his identity to ‘Salim Ahmed alias Salim Vastik’. He remained absconding for about 26 years. During this time, he remained hidden in Haryana and later started running a women’s clothing shop in Loni area of ​​Ghaziabad.
