The Ranveer Singh-Farhan Akhtar disagreement on Don 3 script has been making news for a while. Ranveer, who was signed as the new Don, has stepped away from the project, and while we do not have his replacement yet, a new report sheds light on why Singh parted ways from the movie. As per a latest report, Ranveer made many demands on the film’s scripting that did not go down well with Akhtar. Here are more deets.

As per a report by Free Press Journal, Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 would follow the format of the previous two Don films. However, Ranveer wanted to introduce some 'strong language' in the movie.

Singh, who is currently enjoying the massive success of Dhurandhar duology, reportedly suggested introducing some heavy language in the movie, following the Dhurandhar way.

Those familiar with the earlier Don films starring Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan know their characters leaned more towards a James Bond–style persona; slick, stylish, and composed. Excessive “harsh language” was never a defining trait of those films.

Those present during the discussions between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar claim the project stalled as Farhan was unwilling to be dictated to, particularly on key decisions. It is believed he chose not to give in to any form of pressure.

The source informed, “Farhan very much wanted to make the film he originally set out to make.”

In both Amitabh Bachchan’s Don (1978) and SRK's Don (2006, 2011) the characters were shown as being dangerous and deadly, but neither film attempted any ‘R-rated’ stuff.

Don 3 was originally announced in August 2023, with Ranveer stepping in to play the new-age Don. After their feud, a few days back reports were rife that the Dhurandhar actor will return the signing amount of Rs 10 crore.

The report also reveals that Ranveer has promised to give Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment a ‘stake’ in his next film, which has been tentatively titled as Pralay. However, there is no report confirming the percentage of stakes that Ranveer has decided to give.
