Fortnite developer Epic Games is about to add lots of new content to the game, although the good news ends there. Fortnite update 40.30 is available to download for PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2 and Android. It adds new content such as crossover skins, as well as new Rivals gameplay. Unfortunately, however, the good news ends there, because the new content won't be available until server maintenance comes to an end.
Fortnite will be taken offline at 9am BST UK time, while matchmaking is disabled shortly beforehand.
The news was announced by Epic Games on X, alongside a confirmation of the server downtime.
"Downtime for v40.30 begins at 4 AM ET (8 AM UTC) with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand," reads an Epic Games tweet.
For UK fans, this means that Fortnite will be taken offline in full at 9am BST, while matchmaking will be disabled at 8.30am UK time.
According to the Fortnite server status page, downtime will last for just 90 minutes, which means you can log back in at 10.30am BST UK time.
Daily Express will update this article with all the latest developments, so keep checking back for confirmation about the Fortnite server maintenance.
The new update adds another batch of Star Wars Clone Wars content to Fortnite this week.
Specifically, fans will be able to purchase Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker skins from the Item Shop on May 1.
Fans can also expect to discover more about the imminent Overwatch collaboration, which joins Fortnite and Rocket League.
That's on top of more Sidekick characters, including Fox Sidekick and Sluro Sidekick.
