A UK haulage company has plunged into administration in yet another blow to the UK motor industry. MJ Haulage Limited, a foresight transport company located in Devon, dropped into administration last week, according to details on The London Gazette.

The business appointed administrators back on 5 May, with the notice appearing in the London Gazette in the early hours of 11 May. MJ Haulage Limited is based at Yard Commercial Road Business Park, Lords Meadow Trading Estate, Crediton, EX17 1ER.

At this stage, there is no information on what the news could mean for the company's staff and whether there could be job cuts as a result. Companies House explains that the company was incorporated back in August 2024, meaning the firm hasn't yet celebrated its two-year anniversary

According to the London Gazette, Andreas Arakapiotis and Brett Lee Barton have been appointed as joint administrators over the business. Administrators are qualified practitioners who take over the day-to-day control of the company from the original directors.

These experts are put in place to protect a business that can no longer pay its debts, with the goal of rescuing the business or achieving a positive outcome for creditors. At this stage, the business directors usually lose their decision-making power over the company's affairs, with administrators instead having the final say.

The news is a major blow to the road haulage sector, with several local brands falling into difficulties in recent weeks. Suma Logistics Limited, a freight company based in Stoke-On-Trent, dropped into administration on May 1.

Martyn Barratt Transport Limited, a Haulage company based in Nottingham, entered administration in April in a major blow to the local area.

Martyn Barratt was a major brand in the haulage sector in the Midlands, with the firm in business since the summer of 2000. The difficulties didn't end there, with North West based John K Philips Group Limited entering administration on April 20, 2026.

Ardens Haulage Limited, a transport company specialising in the bulk carriage of farm produce, also dropped into liquidation earlier this year.
