Tiago EVTo strengthen its hold in the Indian automobile market, Tata Motors is ready to introduce its most affordable hatchback car Tiago in a completely new avatar. The company has officially made it clear that both the new Tata Tiago Facelift and Tata Tiago EV Facelift cars will be launched simultaneously in the Indian market on 28 May 2026. The company has completely changed the exterior design of these two hatchback cars, making them look more bold and modern than before.
According to the official teaser released by Tata Motors, the biggest change in the new models of both the cars has been seen in their front fascia. The cars now have very sharp and sleek headlights with eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs.
To keep the look different, the company has kept some special differences between the two models. Its petrol and CNG (ICE) models get a large and premium Tata Altroz-like black grille, which gives the car a wide stance. On the other hand, its electric (EV) model has a closed-off grille matching the body color to improve aerodynamics.
Apart from this, the design of the bumper has also been completely changed. Customers will get pixel-sized fog lamps in the new bumper of the petrol/diesel model, while the fog lamps have been removed from the front bumper of the electric model. Talking about the side profile, both the cars have new geometric pattern alloy wheels. At the rear of the car, a black gloss strip has been added with the newly designed tail-lights which connects the two lights.
After this major cosmetic change, Tiago is going to give tough competition to cars like Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios in its segment. Talking about the features, according to media reports and teasers, this time safety features like 360-degree camera, a new digital instrument cluster and 6 airbags can be found as standard in the vehicle.
No changes are expected in the mechanical parts of the vehicle. The petrol variant will get the same old 1.2-litre engine, while the EV model is expected to have the existing 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh battery pack options along with a larger battery pack that should offer more driving range. The booking window for both these new cars is expected to start officially soon.
