New Delhi: Several parts of Chennai will see power cuts on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. The power cuts in the city will be due to scheduled maintenance work in several areas, said officials of the electricity department. It is expected that several areas in Chennai will have no power till 2 pm. Post that if the maintenance work is complete, then electricity will be restored, they added.

According to a report in Times Now, Chennai will see power cuts between 9 am to 2 pm on May 26. The people will have to face major inconveniences during this time. Since the timing has already been announced, the officials hope that the residents of the city will prepare accordingly.

People have been asked to keep their electrical appliances, like mobile phones, computers and laptops, fully charged, before the outage. They have also been asked to run any high-powered appliances before the outage starts.

Here are the areas which will witness power cuts

1. T Nagar: Bazzulla Road, Chari Street, Parthasarathipuram, Unnamalaiammal Street, Habibulla Road, Rangan Street, Duraisamy Road, Rajan Street, Arulambal Street, Gandhi Street, Jawaharlal Nehru Street, Ramachandra Iyer Street, Rajapillai Thottam, Mambalam High Road, Kodambakkam High Road, North Usman Road, Rangarajapuram area, Ageez Nagar, Akborabath, Parangusa Puram, CRP Garden, Mangesh Street, Railway Border Road, Station view Road, Bharathi Street and Tilak Street.

2. Dasarathapuram: Kaveri Rangan Nagar, K.K. Salai, Logaya Colony, Arcot Road, Balaji Nagar, Baskar Colony, Mathialazan Nagar, Venkatesa Nagar, Arunachalam Road.

3. Saligramam: Arunachalam Road, Kumaran Colony, Gandhi Nagar, Devaraj Nagar, Arcot Road, and SSR Pankajam Road in Saligramam will see power cuts during this time.

4. KK Nagar: Bharani Colony, Arcot Road, Kaveri Hospital, Suriya Street, 80 Feet Road, M.G. Chakkarapani Street, Big Bazaar, Passport Office will have no power between 9 am to 2 pm on Tuesday.

5. Virugambakkam: Arcot Road, NSK Lane, Shamala Tower in this area will have no electricity tomorrow.

6. Chinmiya Nagar: Munusamy Street, Kasturi Street, Vinayagam Street, Kamarajar Salai area will see no electricity on the day.

7. Thiruverkadu: Anandhan Nagar, Chakkareshwari Nagar, Mahalakshmi Nagar, VGN, Anbu Nagar.

8. Iyyappanthangal: Mount Poonamallee Road, Pillaiyar Kovil Street, Murugan Kovil Street, JJ Nagar, Amman Nagar, PG Avenue, Indira Nagar, Janakiammal Nagar, Sai Nagar, Vinayagapuram, Sornapuri Nagar.

The electricity department also advised people to keep an eye on local media channels for any updates regarding the timings of the power cuts in the city.
