Thakurdwara. The issue of electricity crisis figured prominently in the Jan Chaupal organized in village Saudaspur of Block Dillari area. Troubled by the continuous power cuts and low voltage problems amid the scorching heat, the villagers expressed their displeasure to the officials and raised the demand for smooth power supply.
During Jan Chaupal, Halka Kanungo Chandrapal Singh reviewed the ongoing government works in the village and listened to the problems of the villagers. During this time, the villagers who arrived in large numbers told that despite the clear orders of the government, electricity is not being supplied in the village as per the scheduled time. People’s daily life is being affected due to frequent power cuts. Due to humidity and heat at night, it has become difficult for people to stay in their homes. Villagers told the officials that farming work is also being badly affected by the power crisis. The tube wells installed in the fields are getting electricity with low voltage, due to which the motors are not running properly.
Farmers say that due to lack of timely irrigation, the crops standing in the fields are on the verge of drying up, while the crisis of green fodder for the animals is also deepening. Villagers warned that if the problem is not resolved soon, farmers and villagers will be forced to agitate. The officials took the complaints of the villagers seriously and informed the concerned department and assured to resolve them soon. A large number of villagers including Halka Lekhpal Shashank, Village Secretary Sheetal, Anganwadi workers, Asha daughters-in-law were present in the Chaupal.
