New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken a big and special step regarding young cricketer Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The board has requested Vaibhav’s parents to travel with Team India on the tour of Sri Lanka and United Kingdom. The 15-year-old player is going to join the senior Indian team for the first time, so BCCI is taking special care of his comfort and mental comfort.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi has recently got a place in India’s T20 team. If he gets a chance in the playing eleven, he can become the youngest player to debut for India. Currently this record is in the name of Sachin Tendulkar, who played his first match for India at the age of 16 years and 207 days.
BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said that usually players’ parents are not allowed to accompany the team on foreign tours, but Vaibhav is still a minor and will be among fully adult players for the first time, so the board has made special arrangements.
According to Saikia, Vaibhav needs time to adjust to the new environment and the support of his family will make him mentally strong. There is news that his father may also leave for Sri Lanka tour.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi has attracted everyone’s attention with his excellent batting at an early age. He has proved his talent by scoring more than 1000 runs in just 23 matches in IPL. His aggressive batting and ability to play under pressure impressed the selectors.
Chief selector Ajit Agarkar said that Vaibhav has earned himself a place in the team with his performance. He said that the young batsman has shown excellent performance in both Under-19 cricket and IPL. Cricket experts believe that Vaibhav can prove to be a match winner for India in the coming times. His explosive batting and confidence have made him the new rising star of Indian cricket.
