This recipe is not only great in taste, but it is also very easy to make. Lightly crispy from outside and soft from inside, these appe are liked by everyone from children to adults.
First of all, wash the poha thoroughly and soak it in water for about 5 minutes. After this, remove the excess water and grind the poha lightly in the mixer.
Now add ground poha, semolina and curd in a big vessel and mix well. After this, add onion, tomato, green chilli, ginger, green coriander and salt as per taste and mix.
If the batter seems too thick then add some water and prepare a thick but smooth batter. Now keep it covered for 5 minutes, so that the semolina swells properly.
After the batter is ready, add Eno to it and mix gently. Now heat the appe pan on gas and pour some oil in each mould.
Fill the prepared batter in the molds and cook on medium flame. When the appe becomes golden and crispy from below, turn them and cook well from the other side also.
If you want to make the appas softer, you can slightly increase the amount of curd in the batter. This will make the appe spongy and tasty from inside.
You can serve hot Poha Appe with green coriander chutney, coconut chutney or tomato chutney. Apart from morning breakfast, it can also be eaten during light hunger in the evening.
