Oyarzabal gave the lead on penalty

Spain got the lead in the 22nd minute. French defender Lucas Dinye fouled Lamin Yamal, after which the referee gave a penalty. Mikel Oyarzabal converted the penalty to give Spain a 1-0 lead. This was Oyarzabel’s 5th goal in the tournament. At the end of the first half of the first semi-final, Spain had a one-goal lead over France and it was expected that Kylian Mbappe’s team would make a comeback in the second half.

Pedro Porro doubled Spain’s lead

In the 58th minute of the second half, Spain scored the second goal through a brilliant move. Daniel Olmo created a chance for Pedro Porro with an excellent pass. Poro took full advantage of this opportunity and scored a calm goal to give Spain a 2-0 lead over France. France tried its best to make a comeback, but its players did not fare well against Spain’s disciplined defense.

Spain in the World Cup final for the second time

France, the 2018 world champion and 2022 runner-up, was in excellent form throughout the tournament. Till the semi-finals, he scored 16 goals in six matches and conceded only two goals.
