Samajwadi Party has taken a big step regarding the future of Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar University in Kanpur. A SP delegation led by Sisamau Assembly MLA Smt. Naseem Solanki and former MLA Irfan Solanki has submitted a memorandum to His Excellency the Governor through the Kanpur District Magistrate. In this memorandum, deep concern has been expressed over the proposed demolition action in relation to the university and a demand has been made that it should be stopped immediately.


Future of University and interest of students


The SP delegation, while presenting its views, said that Mohammad Ali Jauhar University is not just a building made of bricks and stones, but it is the center of the future of thousands of students, their career and employment. He stressed that the education of thousands of students and their educational future should be given priority before any action is taken against this institution. SP leaders have appealed to the administration to seriously assess the negative impacts on the education system before taking any steps.


Appeal for fair investigation and solution


The memorandum clearly demands that an impartial investigation should be conducted into this entire episode. SP leaders have urged that the matter should be resolved only within the ambit of the Constitution, law and judicial process. He has requested the Governor to ensure that the academic interests of the students studying in the University are not harmed at any cost and the learning environment on the campus is not affected by any kind of government action.


In this delegation, MLA Naseem Solanki and former MLA Irfan Solanki along with senior leader Sartaj Anwar, General Secretary of Student Assembly Siraj Hussain, Assembly Speaker Varun Jaiswal and Councilor Ishrat Ali and many other party officials and workers were present. Now everyone’s eyes are on what will be the next step of the government and administration after this memorandum.
