Udne Ki Aasha is set to take a seven-year leap and the story is entering a brand-new chapter. For Tanvi Shewale , who has been playing Roshni since the beginning, the shift is another milestone in a role that has shaped her both professionally and personally.

Having portrayed Roshni for such a long time, Tanvi says the character has become second nature to her.

“I think when you play a character for so long, you begin to understand everything about them—the smallest nuances, the way they think, feel and react. After playing Roshni for such a long time, it just comes naturally to me. My reactions as her have become very spontaneous. I think I know Roshni inside out now,” she says.

Over the course of the show, Roshni has faced several emotional and challenging situations. While Tanvi believes no one can truly understand everything her character has endured, she does see parts of herself reflected in Roshni.

“Roshni has gone through a lot—really, a lot. I don't think anyone will ever completely understand everything she has experienced. But if I talk about similarities between us, I connect with her strength and independence. Certain situations in life make you stronger, and over the years, I also feel I have become a really strong and independent person. Apart from this, there is nothing similar between us,” she shares.

The actress also feels that being a part of Udne Ki Aasha has helped her grow beyond the screen. She describes herself as someone who was naturally reserved before joining the show, but credits her co-stars for helping her become more expressive.

“I was a very quiet and introverted person. When I started doing this show, I was surrounded by some of the most extroverted and crazy people. They have helped me open up so much. I genuinely believe that opening up helps you become a better actor. I wouldn't say I have become a complete extrovert because your basic nature doesn't change completely, but I have definitely opened up a lot,” Tanvi explains.

Spending long hours on set has also made the space feel like home. She has decorated her room with warm lights, cushions, blankets and fan gifts, creating a corner that reflects her personality.

“I try to make my room feel like home. I love the fragrance of kapoor, so I burn it in my room because it brings warmth and freshness. Whatever gifts we receive from fans are also kept in our rooms. These little things make the space feel cosy,” she says.

What makes the experience even more special, according to Tanvi, is the bond she shares with her co-stars.

“When I say this set is my second home, I genuinely mean it. We all gel so well. The boys, the girls, the entire family—everyone is amazing. It's difficult to pick one person because everyone gives me that family feeling. I love them all. They have my heart,” she says with a smile.

Despite playing Roshni for a long time, Tanvi is careful not to let familiarity affect her performance. She believes every scene offers a chance to explore something new.

“When you play a character for a long time, you have to give your best every day so that it doesn't become monotonous. I always try to bring some difference to my scenes. It makes you think more and pushes you to create something new. That process helps you become a better actor,” she says.

As Udne Ki Aasha moves into its next phase with the upcoming leap, Tanvi is looking forward to everything that's ahead. More than anything else, she says she feels fortunate to be doing what she loves every single day.

“I just love my work and I love shooting. I feel extremely grateful that I get to work every day. That's what makes me wake up in the morning and give my best shot. This has been an amazing journey, and it's still going on. I'm very happy,” she concludes.
