Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Dipke was reportedly threatened to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or face dire consequences. This claim was made by his father Bhagwanrao Dipke while talking to journalists in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra on Wednesday. He told that this threat was seen by him through a video (reel) on YouTube in mid-May. According to him, this incident happened shortly after the inauguration of CJP.

Father's claim- threat was given in YouTube reel

Bhagwanrao Dipke said that between 15 and 17 May, he saw a reel on YouTube, which allegedly said that if Abhijeet did not join BJP, his family would be harmed. “It was said in the video that if he does not become a member of BJP, we know where your parents live and we will deal with them,” he said. This claim has come at a time when Abhijeet Dipke has returned to his home district after leading a weeks-long agitation in New Delhi over alleged irregularities in the examination system.

'Left job for country', father praises son

Bhagwanrao Dipke praised his son and said that he decided to leave his private career and work for public issues. "She left her job and dedicated herself to the country. She used her education not just for herself but for the society and the youth," he said.

Homecoming welcomed with simplicity

The family did not organize any big welcome ceremony for Abhijeet Dipke when he returned home. Bhagwanrao Dipke told that his son likes to stay away from ostentation and publicity. He said, "He does not like much publicity. Earlier also when he had come to the village, he had not allowed any kind of big program to take place. He likes a simple life."

Who is Abhijeet Dipke?

• Abhijit Dipke completed his schooling in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. After this he did his graduation in Journalism from Pune.
• He has claimed that he later obtained a master's degree in Public Relations from Boston University, America.
• Abhijeet Dipke also worked as a digital and social media volunteer for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) between the years 2020 to 2023.

How did the CJP movement start?

• Abhijeet Dipke launched a satirical online campaign named Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on 16 May.
• He says that this campaign was started after he made remarks in which he claimed that CJI Surya Kant had called the youth of the country "cockroaches".
• The campaign quickly gained support on social media and later spread to many states. After this, Dipke returned from America and started leading the movement at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.

Many demands were made to the government on NEET issue

• The CJP had demanded the resignation of the then Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in the examination system, NEET paper leak and cases of student suicides.
• On 20 July, thousands of students marched to Parliament. During this time, the police took action against many protesters and later many FIRs were also registered.
