Benson Boone has postponed his Sacramento concert after struggling with vocal issues ahead of his scheduled performance.

The Grammy-nominated singer was due to perform at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center on Saturday as part of his Wanted Man Tour. However, Boone announced on Instagram that he would be unable to take the stage after spending the afternoon trying to recover his voice.

“Sacramento — I’m so so sorry but I am not going to be able to perform tonight,” he wrote. “I’ve been fighting like hell all afternoon to try and make my voice presentable for the show tonight and it’s not in a place to do so.”

Boone acknowledged that the cancellation would be particularly disappointing for fans who had travelled for the concert. “I know this is extremely disappointing especially for everyone who traveled to be here. Trust me l am disappointed too. I hate letting you guys down more than anything.”

He added that his team was working on the next steps and confirmed that the concert would be rescheduled.

“We’re figuring out the next steps now, and I’ll get you an update as soon as I have one, but this show will be rescheduled as soon as possible,” Boone wrote. “I will see you soon. Thank you for sticking with me. Seriously. I love you guys so much. B”

Golden 1 Center also confirmed the postponement, citing health reasons.

Boone is next scheduled to perform at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena, where he is set for a two-night engagement beginning Monday, Aug. 10.
