There is a major update regarding the Bihar Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) 4.0—the recruitment drive for over 32,000 teachers in Bihar. The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) held a press conference on Monday concerning TRE 4. Seeking to resolve the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the exam, the Commission's Controller of Examinations clarified that the BPSC TRE 4 exam is likely to be held in December or January. He also stated that the BPSC TRE 4 would be conducted in two stages (Preliminary and Main) and confirmed that negative marking would be applicable.

Let us look at the details provided by the Commission regarding BPSC TRE 4 and find out when the exam schedule will be released.

**BPSC TRE 4 Exam Schedule to be Released in October**

Regarding the BPSC TRE 4 exam schedule, the Commission's Controller of Examinations, Rajesh Kumar Singh, stated that the application process is yet to take place. The specific schedule—or the confirmed date—for the BPSC TRE 4 exam can only be announced after the application process concludes and the total number of applications is assessed. He mentioned that if the number of applications for BPSC TRE 4 is up to 5 lakhs, the exam could be conducted in a single day; however, if more than 5 lakh applications are received, the exam would be held over two or three days. He indicated that the exam schedule is likely to be announced in October following the completion of the application process, with the exam itself potentially taking place in December or January.

**BPSC TRE 4 Exam to be Held in Two Stages; Negative Marking to Apply**

Regarding the BPSC TRE 4 exam, the Commission's Controller of Examinations stated that the test would be conducted in two stages: a Preliminary stage followed by a Main stage. He noted that several other states, including Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, conduct exams in two stages. He further explained that the decision to conduct the TRE-4 exam in two stages was made based on suggestions from the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) and to ensure transparency. It was further stated that the rule of negative marking applies to all BPSC-conducted examinations featuring objective-type questions, and this rule is binding on all candidates. Consequently, since the BPSC TRE 4 exam will also include objective questions, negative marking will be applicable to it as well.
