The state government has now prepared to intensify the campaign regarding the distribution of Chief Minister Health Scheme card in Punjab. The aim of the government is to deliver the cards to the eligible beneficiaries as soon as possible, so that they do not face any problem in availing the benefits of the health scheme. Under this, the process of delivering about 33 lakh cards to the beneficiaries through the districts is being speeded up.

About 31 lakh cards have reached the districts

According to Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, about 31 lakh cards of Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana have already been made available in the districts. At the same time, about 2 lakh additional cards are also expected to be available soon. After this, the way for distribution of total about 33 lakh cards will be cleared.

Instead of limiting the distribution process to just general administrative arrangements, the government has planned to run special campaigns at the local level.

Special camps will be organized in 2,008 villages and wards

The state government has identified around 2,008 villages and wards where 400 or more beneficiaries are eligible for the Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana card. Special distribution camps will be organized at these places.

The objective of these camps is to save people from visiting far-flung government offices and to provide cards in their own areas. The beneficiaries will be informed about the date and venue of the camp in advance, so that more and more people can reach on time.

ASHA workers will get incentive amount

The ground staff of the health department will also play an important role in the card distribution campaign. Asha workers, Asha facilitators, Sehat Mitra and other field staff will work to reach the beneficiaries to the camps and increase participation in the campaign.

The government has also decided to encourage the system of door-to-door delivery of cards. On each successful card distribution, the Asha worker will be given Rs 10, while the Asha facilitator will be given Rs 2 per card. For this, a record of door-to-door distribution will be prepared and health department officials will complete the process of claims for incentive amount.

The card will reach every home in small villages and wards.

In villages and wards where there are less than 400 eligible beneficiaries, the already ongoing door-to-door distribution system will continue. At the same time, if the card of any beneficiary is not delivered after the special camps, then it will also be delivered to the home through Asha workers and Asha facilitators.

The government aims to deliver the remaining cards to every home in the next two weeks after the camp-based distribution is completed.

IEC material also available to districts

Along with the cards, necessary information, education and communication i.e. IEC material has also been provided to the districts by the State Health Agency. This includes card jackets, envelopes and brochures to the scheme. With this, beneficiaries will be able to easily get information to the scheme and use of the card.

Distribution campaign will be completed within the time limit

Health department officials have been instructed to continuously monitor the distribution campaign and ensure that the standard operating procedure is followed. The government's emphasis is on ensuring that there is no delay in the distribution process and that the cards reach the final level to the eligible families.

After the formal launch by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the campaign will be given momentum through special camps. The government has set a target to complete the distribution in the camps within a week and then deliver the remaining cards to every home in two weeks. Its objective is to widen the coverage of the Chief Minister Health Scheme in Punjab and to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of the benefits of the scheme.
