The T20 series between India and Afghanistan is in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. First of all, Delhi Police requested DDCA to change the schedule of the first match of this series due to BRICS conference and now the news is that there has been a lapse in the security of Team India. According to media reports, when Team India players reached Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium for practice on Thursday, there was no security with them. The same thing happened after returning back to the hotel from practice.
The newspaper Ankan Kar has claimed lapse in security of Team India. He posted on X and wrote that on Thursday when Shreyas Iyer When the Indian team led by K.K. Singh had its first practice session, there was no security officer present at the time of their arrival and departure. Ankan Kar wrote on social media, ‘There was no security personnel or escort vehicle with the Indian team while coming and going for the practice session at Arun Jaitley Stadium.’ Let us tell you that Delhi Police had already told DDCA that the teams of India and Afghanistan may have to face lack of security arrangements. Usually, in addition to the police convoy, the teams also get escort cars, which accompany them from the hotel to the stadium.
Earlier there were reports that after the email of Delhi Police, there could be a change in the India-Afghanistan T20 series but this has been rejected by DDCA. According to DDCA, the series will take place on time only. All three matches will be played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi only. Let us tell you that Team India is going to play as a guest in its own house. Delhi ground will be Afghanistan’s home ground in this series. All three matches of the T20 series will be played on 13, 15 and 17 September.
