In fact, Delhi Traffic Police, citing security arrangements and traffic management, demanded the Delhi and District Cricket Association to postpone the India vs Afghanistan 1st T20. Delhi Police demands change in schedule from DDCA

Actually, BRICS Summit is going to be organized in New Delhi on 12th and 13th September. During this period, Delhi Traffic Police is facing a big challenge regarding security arrangements and traffic management in the capital. This is the reason why Delhi Traffic Police had demanded DDCA to postpone the match. According to reports, the DCP of Delhi Traffic Police had sent a letter on this matter to the DDCA Secretary on September 9.

DCP wrote letter to DDCA

According to reports, the DCP of Delhi Traffic Police, in his letter, had advised DDCA to postpone the match to September 13. He said that BRICS Summit is going to be organized in Delhi from 11 to 13 September. During this international conference, heads of state of different countries, foreign delegations, diplomats and top VVIPs will participate. During this period, traffic system may be affected in many parts of the capital due to VIP movement and security arrangements.

The match will take place as per schedule

However, Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has not expressed any problem regarding this matter. DDCA has given an update on this matter by sharing a post on social media. In his post he wrote, ‘The first T20 International match to be held between India and Afghanistan on September 13 at Arun Jaitley Stadium will be held as per schedule. The match will not be postponed.
