Chandigarh: The Punjab vigilance bureau registered 1,107 corruption cases and arrested 1,146 accused between March 16, 2022, and Aug 31, 2026, an official spokesperson of the bureau said here on Sunday.




The spokesperson said, “In addition to this, a total of 301 vigilance enquiries were also registered during the period and 248 accused were convicted in 154 corruption cases.”




The spokesperson said 638 accused were arrested in 529 trap cases . “Similarly, 492 accused were arrested in 546 criminal cases , and 16 persons were arrested in 32 disproportionate assets cases during the period,” the spokesperson added.




The bureau spokesperson further informed that 118 vigilance enquiries were registered in connection with disproportionate assets cases. Also, 183 other vigilance enquiries were registered during the period.
