According to the new and strict rules of the government, ration cards which are not availed of ration for six consecutive months are now going to be completely deactivated by the department. This new rule is being implemented effectively from October 1, after which cardholders who are even slightly careless may face a big shock.

This is how 'silent' ration cards will be identified and automatically blocked.

According to the new and strict order of the department, on exactly 21st of every month, all such 'silent' ration cards will be identified, on which no successful transaction or lifting of food grains has been recorded for the last six consecutive months. After this, exactly on the 1st of the next month, all these inactive cards will be automatically blocked or closed through the system.

Along with this, people availing the benefits of government schemes by making fake or duplicate ration cards will also be specifically identified and their cards will be canceled immediately. Information about this entire action will be sent through SMS to the registered mobile number of the head of the family recorded in the ration card.

Big warning from District Supply Officer, instructions given to sellers

Giving detailed information on this entire matter, District Supply Officer Manoj Burman has made it very clear that the cards which do not take ration for six consecutive months will be deactivated under any circumstances. Regarding this important issue, strict instructions have been issued to all the authorized cheap galla vendors and concerned departmental officers of the district. Officials have been asked to organize special camps at various places so that the general public can be made fully aware of this new rule, so that no citizen has to face any inconvenience.

Card will be canceled if e-KYC and physical verification is not done within 90 days

As per the provisions of the new rules, adequate time of full 90 days will be given by the department to the cardholders before completely and permanently canceling any ration card. The entire process of e-KYC and ground level physical verification of the concerned cardholders will be completed within this stipulated 90-day period.

On the other hand, the department is constantly trying to contact consumers whose mobile numbers are wrongly registered or are not linked to their ration cards so that their deficiencies can be rectified in time.
