Shimla : Leader of opposition Jai Ram Thakur on Wednesday accused chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of failing to manage his govt and party, alleging that he was diverting attention from administrative failures by targeting alleged factions within the BJP.

Thakur alleged that development and welfare activities had stalled in Himachal Pradesh , while the chief minister was running a govt focused on fees and charges instead of public welfare. He challenged Sukhu to list four achievements of his govt in four years rather than count BJP factions .

On the launch of helicopter services under the UDAN scheme, Thakur said the Centre bore the major share of viability gap funding and the state govt contributed only a nominal amount. He accused Sukhu of failing to acknowledge the Centre’s contribution and urged him to express gratitude.

Thakur alleged that the state’s healthcare system was deteriorating, disaster-damaged roads remained unrepaired and drug abuse was spreading. He also claimed that people were struggling to access benefits under Himcare and Ayushman Bharat . Accusing the govt of shielding corruption and lawlessness, he cited allegations of job fraud and irregularities linked to outsourcing. He further alleged that cases were being registered against people exposing the govt’s failures to silence criticism. Thakur claimed Sukhu was raising irrelevant issues to divert attention from failures on multiple fronts.
